Welcome back to everyone in the Foxfire School community. It is my hope that the summer provided you time to relax and enjoy family and friends. The beginning of a new school year provides opportunities and challenges and this year, my personal and professional goal is to design technology, science and enrichment programs that will enhance our children's hands-on learning experience, and better prepare them for the 21st Century.
As your new Principal, I personally am excited to meet each of you and get to know your children throughout the course of the year. As you may know, the students will be participating in a year-long environmental science project with Beczak Science Center, and trips to SUNY Purchase, Lenoir Preserve and the Science Barge are already planned.
Please note that all students will be returning to school on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 for a full day session. School hours are 8:35 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Please be advised that students will not be permitted in the building before 8:25 a.m., when our six new Teaching Assistants begin their day with us. Students must be picked up promptly at 3:15 p.m.
I thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation for a smooth opening and a wonderful school year. By working together, along with the PTA, and with our commitment to your child's education, Foxfire will continue to provide a positive and exciting learning environment that will ensure student academic achievement and future success.
